ARGOLIS, Argus. Septimius Severus. AD 193-211. Æ Diassarion (23mm, 7.93 g, 9h). Struck circa AD 198-208. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / [AP]-Γ-Є-IωN, agonistic table surmounted by wreath between two eagles standing left; amphora and palm frond below. Cf. BCD Peloponnesos 1210.1/1209.3 (same obv. die/similar rev. type); NCP –; apparently unpublished. Fine, porous brown surfaces. Extremely rare.
