Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ Sestertius (31mm, 23.40 g, 12h). Contemporary imitation. Uncertain mint. Struck after circa AD 241. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Apollo seated left, holding branch and resting elbow on lyre. Cf. RIC IV 302 for prototype. VF, greenish-brown surfaces with light earthen highlights/deposits.
With a combination of a slightly blundered obverse legend (DIVS for PIVS) and the crude style, this is most likely a barbarous imitation.
