MACEDON (Roman Protectorate), Republican period. First Meris. Circa 167-149 BC. AR Tetradrachm (31mm, 16.81 g, 3h). Amphipolis mint. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis right, bow and quiver over shoulder, in the center of a Macedonian shield / Club; NAK monogram and MAKEΔONΩN above, ΠPΩTHΣ and HP monogram below; all within oak wreath, thunderbolt to left. Prokopov, Silver 113.2 (O34/R93 – this coin, illustrated); SNG Copenhagen –; SNG Ashmolean 3293. Good VF, faint golden toning around the devices. Attractive style.
