Aelius. Caesar, AD 136-138. Æ Sestertius (29mm, 21.73 g, 12h). Rome mint. Struck under Hadrian, AD 137. L AELIVS CAESAR, bareheaded and draped bust right / HISPANIA, S C in exergue, Hispania, draped, reclining left on ground, holding branch upwards in right hand and resting left arm on basket. RIC II 1077 var. (Hadrian, not draped); Banti 13 var. (same); BMCRE 1941 var. (same). VF, brown patina, some green and red, minor roughness. The second known Sestertius of Aelius with Hispania reverse–the other in the British Museum. Unique with bareheaded and draped bust obverse.
