KINGS of BOSPOROS. Eupator. AD 154/5-circa 172/3. Æ 48 Units (23mm, 7.90 g, 12h). Diademed and draped bust of Eupator right, facing veiled and draped bust of Aphrodite Apatura left, wearing calathus / MH (mark of value) within wreath. MacDonald 481. Near VF, two-toned green patina. Rare.

From a European Collection of Coins of the Northern Black Sea.

Although Eupator’s gold issues appear to have been minted in sizable numbers (perhaps reflecting Roman subsidy), his bronze output was quite small.
