ATTICA, Athens. Circa 454-404 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 17.12 g, 11h). Helmeted head of Athena right, with frontal eye / Owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent behind; all within incuse square. Kroll 8; SNG Copenhagen 31. VF, light scratches on cheek. Wonderful style.

This coin has a style that is nearly identical to that found on the previous issues of Athens (Starr Period V), which indicates that it is among the earliest to have been struck in the circa 454-404 BC period.
