PONTOS, Amisos. temp. Mithradates VI. Circa 85-65 BC. Æ (21mm, 7.94 g, 12h). Head of Mithradates VI as Dionysos, wearing ivy wreath / Thyrsos leaning against cista mystica draped with panther’s skin. Malloy 26c; HGC 7, 243; SNG BM Black Sea 1205-7; SNG Stancomb 698. Near EF, brown patina. Nice surfaces.
