THRACE, Chersonesos. Circa 386-338 BC. AR Diobol (10mm, 1.34 g). Forepart of lion right, head left / Quadripartite incuse square with alternating raised and sunken quarters; pellet in each sunken quarter. Cf. Berlin p. 251, 12–4 var. (no pellets); cf. SNG Copenhagen 824-5 (hemidrachms). Good VF, toned, a few deposits under tone on reverse. Nice metal for issue. Extremely rare denomination, apparently unpublished variety with pellets.
