SICILY, Syracuse. Pyrrhos. 278-276 BC. Æ (24mm, 10.73 g, 12h). Head of Herakles left, wearing lion-skin; laurel-spray behind / Athena Promachos advancing right, holding thunderbolt and shield; wreath to left. BAR Issue 52; cf. CNS 177 (club behind on obv.); HGC 2, 1450. Good VF, red-brown patina.

The symbol on the obverse behind the head of Herakles appears to be a twig with two leaves resembling a laurel spray, which is not noted by Calciati.
