JUDAEA, Neapolis. Philip I, with Philip II. AD 244-249. Æ (25mm, 10.88 g, 6h). Conjoined busts of Philip I and II, both laureate and draped / Figure crouching right, with hound(?) at side, before altar; to left, male figure standing right, raising right hand; to right, two female figures standing left, each raising right hand. Harl – (A9/P11 [unlisted die combination]); Rosenberger –; Sofaer –. Fine, green patina, pit on obverse. Extremely rare, Harl knew of only one example of this enigmatic reverse type (in the British Museum). That specimen only carries a portrait of Philip I on the obverse.
