Philip II. AD 247-249. AR Antoninianus (23mm, 4.42 g, 1h). Antioch mint. Struck AD 248. Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Hexastyle temple; within, figure (Roma?) seated facing, holding scepter. RIC IV 244 var. (bust left); Bland 103; RSC 81 var. (bust left). Good VF, die rust at Philip’s mouth gives the impression of a swollen lower lip.
This coin shows that perhaps the Hapsburg Dynasty can trace their genetic roots back to Philip II!
