Dated year 2 (133/4 CE). “Year 2 for the Freedom of Israel,” grape leaf on vine / “Sma,” palm tree with two bunches of dates; X countermark of host coin visible to upper left. Mildenberg 71 (O5/R35); Meshorer 260a (same dies as illustration); Hendin 1408; for c/m: Howgego 734. In ICG encapsulation graded F15.


The countermark on the host coin belongs to the Legio X Fretensis. The legion played a significant role during the First Jewish War and remained stationed in Judaea and Samaria until the fourth century.
