ATTICA, Athens. Circa 475-465 BC. AR Tetradraachm (23mm, 17.11 g, 12h). Head of Athena right, wearing earring, necklace, and crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves over visor and a spiral palmette on the bowl / Owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent behind, AΘE to right; all within incuse square. Starr Group II.C, (unlisted dies); Svoronos, Monnaies, pl. 8, 18–22; SNG Copenhagen –; Weber 3438. Good VF, toned, obverse struck a little softly. Well centered with nearly full crest. From the same issue as the famous Athenian Dekadrachms.
