The Kararanis were Afghans who became powerful under the Suris. After 971 AH, the brothers moved to Lakhnauti but only the younger brother Da'ud issued coins, After the death of his father and older brother he eventually became sultan in 980. He moved his capital to Tanda but after a major battle with the Mogul Emperor Akbar he was forced to submit, but died shortly afterwards from a 'virulent estilence'. All his coins are rare.
