ELIS, Olympia. 93rd Olympiad. 408 BC. AR Stater (25mm, 10.60 g, 2h). Eagle’s head left; [poplar leaf below] / Winged thunderbolt, with wings turned inwards; in right field, uncertain animal (hound?) standing left; all within olive wreath. Seltman, Temple – (but obv. die BT); BCD Olympia – (but cf. 77-8 for same obv. die); BCD Peloponnesos –; HGC 5, –. Fine, toned, heavy scratches on obverse.

The animal on the reverse is not recorded by Seltman, and there are no similar reverses in the BCD sales.
