CILICIA, Aegeae. Severus Alexander. AD 222-235. Æ (31mm, 17.94 g, 6h). Dated CY 277 (AD 230/1). Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Tyche and three figures (citizens of Aegeae?) standing right before ship with sail (the sail faint); ZO[C] (date) in exergue. Cf. SNG France 2364 (date in field); cf. SNG Levante 1767 (same). Fine, rough green patina. Rare type.

An interesting reverse which, like many provincial issues of the mint, must allude to the importance of maritime trade for the economy of Aegeae, which had a large and important port.
