IONIA, Phokaia. Circa 521-478 BC. AR Obol(?) (10mm, 0.47 g). Female head right, wearing helmet or close fitting cap / Quadripartite incuse square. Cf. SNG Kayhan 522-6; cf. SNG Copenhagen (vol. 7) 389-94 (Uncertain coins of Greece and Asia Minor); cf. SNG von Aulock 1813-5; cf. Klein 452-3; cf. Traité 531 (all diobols with head right). VF, toned. Rare with head right.

The size of the flan and the head of Athena conforms to the diobols cited above. It is possible this was intended as a diobol, but struck on an unusually thin flan.
