Struck from 6 April 1340. · Ph’ : DE : GRΛ · · FRΛnC : RЄX (saltire and triple annulet stops), Philippe enthroned facing within gothic arch, holding short lis-tipped scepter in left hand and cruciform scepter in right / + : XP’C : VIИCIT : XP’C : RЄGИΛT : XP’C : IИPЄRΛT (double saltire and double pellet-in-annulet stops), cross fleurée over voided short cross potent, with voided quatrefoil at center and crown in each quarter; all within double polylobe, with trefoil at each spandrel. Duplessy 253; Ciani 273; Friedberg 267. Good VF, slightly double struck, areas of weak strike, attractive tone. Very rare.
