INDIA, Mughal Empire. Muhyi al-Din Muhammad Aurangzeb Alamgir. AH 1068-1118 / AD 1658-1707. AR Rupee (23mm, 11.37 g, 1h). Lahore mint. Dated AH 1110 and RY 42 (AD 1698/9). With khanda symbol and mint epithet “Dar al-Sultanat”. Cf. KM 300.53 (for type, without khanda); Baldwin’s 50, 1074. VF, areas of toning, small flan flaw on reverse. Very rare.


This coin was struck at the time when Guru Gobind Singh was fighting the Mughal emperor in the Punjab.
