Hadrian. AD 117-138. AR Cistophorus (28mm, 9.91 g, 12h). Uncertain mint in Asia. Draped bust right / Minerva standing left, holding patera, spear, and shield. RIC II 503; Metcalf, Cistophori type 118; RSC 294. Near VF, deposit on reverse. Overstruck on an Ephesian cistophorus of Claudius (cf. RPC I 2221-2; pediment visible at roughly 6 o’clock on obverse, back of head visible on reverse to right of Minerva).
