Umayyad Caliphate. Uncertain. Æ Pashiz (22mm, 0.80 g, 3h). Ardashīr Khurra mint. No date. Crowned Sasanian-style bust right; “May xvarrah increase” in Pahlavi behind, unread name in Pahlavi before; open circle border with star-in-crescent motif in margin at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock / Angel standing facing; “May Ardashīr-xvarrah be prosperous (or free?)” in Pahlavi around; double circle border with star-in-crescent motif in margin at 3, [6] , 9, and 12 o’clock. A relatively new type that has been turning up in sales with increasing frequency over the last decade or so. The name remains unread, but the type is similar in aspects to the coinage of Farroxzād and should be dated sometime to around 80 H.
