GERMANY, Magdeburg (Erzbistum). Lot of six (6) AR Bracteates. 1) Circa 1190-1200 (21mm, 0.70 g). Facing bust of St. Maurice, holding sword and flag. Kestner 1531 2) Circa 1190-1200 (20mm, 0.97 g). Facing bust of St. Maurice, holding cross and palm branch, set on architectural base with central medallion. Kestner 1535-6 3) Circa 1230 (23mm, 0.78 g). Facing bust of St. Maurice, set on arch containing three towers; larger tower to either side. Kestner 1581 4) Before circa 1245 (22mm, 0.51 g). Facing bust of St. Maurice, holding two flags, within architectural frame surmounted by two crosses and three towers. Kestner 1590-1 5) Before circa 1250 (22mm, 0.58 g). Facing bust of bishop, holding crozier and scepter; pellet to either side; all within ornate frame. Kestner 1636-7 6) Before circa 1250 (22mm, 0.73 g). Bishop, holding crozier and cruciform scepter, seated facing between two towers surmounting a segmented arch. Kestner 1640. VF or slightly better, coins 4 and 5 with edge chips.
