CELTIC, Durotriges. Uninscribed. Circa 65 BC-AD 45. AV Stater (20mm, 6.17 g, 5h). Durotrigan A, Chute type. Struck circa 60-30 BC. Devolved head of Apollo right / Disjointed horse left; ‘crabs’ above and below; above tail, elongated pellet within elliptical ornament; pellets around. Van Arsdell 1205-1; SCBC 22; ABC 746. VF.


Hoard evidence suggests that the usual attribution of these staters to the Durotriges may not be correct. The authors of ABC point out that these staters are not found in Durotrigan territory and instead attribute them the the Belgae, although with some reservations
