ATTICA, Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. AR Tetradrachm (32mm, 16.59 g, 12h). New Style coinage. Apellikon, Gorgias, and Aristonos, magistrates. Struck 89/8 BC. Helmeted head of Athena right / Owl standing right on amphora; griffin to right, Γ cut over a B on amphora, ΔH below; all within wreath. Cf. Thompson 1132-7 (exact marks not recorded). VF, toned, struck from a worn obverse die.
