Diademed and draped bust right / Athena advancing left, holding shield and spear. RPC I 4773.5 (this coin); Rouvier 439 (Berytus); Svoronos -; SNG Copenhagen -. VF, green patina under thick earthen deposits.

All of Cleopatra’s coinage from Chalcis is dated by her Egyptian and Phoenician regnal years (corresponding to 32/1 BC). While the larger denominations featured the portrait of Antony, smaller denominations, such as this and the previous lot, were issued with Cleopatra’s portrait alone.
