Victorinus. Romano-Gallic Emperor, AD 269-271. Antoninianus (20mm, 4.62 g, 1h). Colonia Agrippinensis (Cologne) mint. 1st/2nd emission, late AD 269-mid AD 270. IMP C PI VICTORINVS AVG, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / SALVS AVG, Salus standing facing, head right, holding serpent with both hands. RIC V 65 var. (obv. legend); Mairat 319-20; AGK 21b. Near EF, brown patina, struck on broad flan. Rare.


This rare variety appears to have the obverse characteristics of the first emission at Cologne, yet the reverse characteristics of the second emission and therefore would most likely be attributed to the earliest stages of the second emission.
