Head of Athena right, wearing Corinthian helmet decorated with a griffin / AGAQOKLEOS BASILEOS, winged thunderbolt; monogram below. Bérend, l'or pl. 9, 8 (same obv. die); Jenkins pl. 15, C; SNG ANS 704 (same dies); cf. SNG Copenhagen 778; SNG Manchester 518 (same dies); Pozzi 648 = Pozzi (Boutin) 1327 (same dies). Superb EF, very light cleaning marks, tiny spots of encrustation. ($4000)
