Titus. As Caesar, AD 69-79. Æ As (27mm, 10.54 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck under Vespasian, AD 73. Laureate head right / Victory standing right, holding palm frond over shoulder and placing wreath on signum to right. RIC II.1 –, but cf. 572 (Vespasian, S C in exergue). Red-green patina, smoothing. VF. Evidently a very rare variant with the S C across reverse fields instead of in the exergue. |
