ANGLO-SAXON. Lot of three (3) lead weights. Circa 9th-10th centuries. (17mm, 16mm, and 14mm, 25.63g = light eyrir @ 25.6g, 10.06g = 3 penny weights @ 3.3g, 6.81g = 2 penny weights @ 3.4g). Inlays, gilding, and fine casting on all three examples. About as made.

The penny weights here are heavy weights in comparison to the standard, which originally was based on the Islamic dirham @2.97g. That may be due to local standards that showed up in various towns and regions in the period. LOT SOLD AS IS, NO RETURNS. Three (3) items in lot.
