John V Palaeologus(?). 1341-1391. Æ (16mm, 1.35 g, 9h). Short cross with pellet and B in each quarter; pellet at each extremity / Crowned half-length figure of emperor facing, holding scepter; [...]-ω across. LBC –; PCPC 384; DOC –; Schlumberger, Sigillographie 24; SB –. Dark brown patina, softly struck on reverse. Near VF. Very rare, two other examples on Coin Archives.

Originally assigned by Schlumberger to Rhodes, Bendall, although confirming that the lack of an imperial portrait makes this plausible, classifies this as a “Sub-Byzantine” Paleologan issue
