Thick 4to., pp. xix, (1), 277, (3); ix, (3), 408, (4); ix, (3), 332, (4); xiii, (3), 365, (3); ix, (3), 327, (5) pages; 531 very fine plates. Original blue cloth boards, the spines lettered in gilt, top edges gilt. Number 478 of 500 sets issued. Gilt edges toned, some insignificant signs of age else a new, unused set with each volume still housed in the original protective paper wrappers and cardboard sleeves they were placed in upon publication. Clain-Stefanelli 4048, “From Pompey the Great to Romulus Augustus, also tesserae and contorniates.” Grierson p. 74. Kroh p. 72 (five stars), “This is the publication of the finest private collection of Roman coins ever assembled and it included 8,051 coins… every one of them illustrated on 537 exceptional collotype plates.
