POTTERY. Greek Southern Italian Colonies. c. 4th-3rd Cent. BCE. (55 mm tall x 96 mm wide). The bottom portion of a lekanis, a covered, footed dish. The foot is tapered and flattened at the bottom, extended by a neck that holds the wide, shallow dish. The lip on the dish is raised and inset to allow the top to fit. It is glazed in black, iridescent patination exists in the bowl itself. Intact. A couple small chips/loss. Faded and worn paint. A couple light cleaning marks. Website shipping rates do not apply.
