Radiate sun; c/m: crowned monogram of Frederik VII of Denmark / Smoldering volcano with crowned tower to left; cornucopia below; in background, ship under sail left on sea; all within wreath; CONFEDERACION below, edge lettering incuse. The Frederik VII countermarks found on numerous world coins are believed to be fantasies applied in Paris circa 1860. KM’s Unusual World Coins lists them under the Danish West Indies.
