Hadrian. AD 117-138. Æ Sestertius (31mm, 22.61 g, 12h). “Travel series” issue (“Provinces cycle”) – Army / exercitus type. Rome mint. Struck circa AD 130-133. Laureate and draped bust right / EXERC SYRIACV[S]/ S C in two lines in exergue, Hadrian riding right, right hand raised in gesture of address, toward a group of three soldiers with signa. RIC II.3 1956; Banti 293 var. (rev. legend). Slightly rough brown surfaces, some pitting. VF. Rare.
