POTTERY. Southern Italian Greek Colonies. Gnathia. C. 4th – 2nd Cent. BCE. (60 mm wide x 130 mm tall). A Lekythos with wide flat foot at the bottom of a wide-bodied oval container with a medium sized tapered neck. The form terminates with a fluted top with flaired lip. Handle present on one side extending from the neck to the body of the vessel. Two lines of decoration adorn the body in white, a top series of straight lines standing vertically, met but a second line of tear drop shaped patterns ending in a single point. Below, a flower and vase pictured linearly. Some loss at top. Repaired and repainted in places. Website shipping rates do not apply.
