1) Obverse of Great Exhibition Prize Medal (77mm, 149.50 g). London mint. By W. and L. C. Wyon. Dated 1851 (in Roman numerals). VICTORIA D : G : BRIT : REG F : D : (rosette) ALBERTUS PRINCEPS CONJUX., jugate heads of Albert and Victoria, laureate and wearing earring and necklace, left; trident head to right, two dolphins below; in exergue, MDCCCLI / Blank, but for stamped numeral 29. Cf. BHM 2462; cf. Eimer 1456.

2) Reverse of Great Exhibition Prize Medal (77mm, 100.37 g). London mint. By W. and L. C. Wyon. Dated 1851. DISSOCIATA LOCIS CONCORDI PACE LIGAVIT, Britannia seated right on trophy of arms, crowning Industry kneeling left; to right, Asia, Africa, America, and Europa standing left; in exergue, LEONARD.C: WYON/DES: & SC: to left, ROYAL MINT. LONDON/1851 to right / Blank. Cf. BHM 2462; cf. Eimer 1456.

3) Obverse of Dublin International Exhibition 1865 Prize Medal (75mm, 89.35 g). London mint. By A. Geefs. ARTS AND SCIENCES, winged female flying left, holding cornucopia over shoulder; below; to lower left, symbols of science, agriculture and technology before temple façade; in background, sun rising over horizon; ALEX GEEFS INV & FECIT/BRUSSELS in two lines; bee stops. Cf. Eimer 1577. Brown surfaces, cliché of reverse of Great Exhibition Prize Medal polished and mounted for hanging. As made.

The Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations, also known as the Great Exhibition or the Crystal Palace Exhibition, held in London in 1851 was the first ever international exhibition of manufactured products. It inspired a long succession of international fairs in other cities, including Paris, Dublin, New York, Vienna and Chicago, with these events being held almost annually for the rest of the 19th century.
