This interesting piece belongs to a small series, probably from somewhere in Asia Minor, that can be distinguished by the beaded border and consistent style. Like the lead tesserae from Ephesus, this series is also found overstruck and in various mixed obverse/reverse combinations. The types seen thus far include:
