Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Cult statue of Aphrodite of Aphrodisias standing right, wearing kalathos, within tetrastyle temple; to her left, a small figure of a priestess seated right, to her right, a small fountain. MacDonald, Coinage –, cf. type 111 for Caracalla; Naumann 50, lot 362 (same dies). Rough brown surfaces, minor deposits. Near VF. Extremely rare, possibly the second known. |
