Laureate head of Trajan right, set on eagle standing right; club to right / Laureate large bust of Melkart-Hercules right, with lion’s skin tied around neck. McAlee 455A; Prieur 1495A (Tyre); RPC III 3529. Toned, a few light scratches, minor porosity. Good VF. Very rare with the larger bust of Melkart, only one example known to Prieur, nine in CoinArchives, and one specimen cited by the authors of RPC. |
