Cista mystica, from which serpent emerges, within ivy wreath / Two serpents entwined around bow and bowcase; MH above, civic monogram to left, lion skin draped over club to right. Kleiner & Noe Series 31 var. (additional controls in serpent coils); SNG BN 1708 var. (monogram on central serpent coil). Traces of find patina, slight doubling. VF. Unpublished variety, rare thus. |
