MACEDON (Roman Protectorate), Republican period. First Meris. Circa 167-149 BC. AR Tetradrachm (32mm, 16.74 g, 12h). Amphipolis mint. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis right, bow and quiver over shoulder, in the center of a Macedonian shield / Club; monograms above and below; all within oak wreath, thunderbolt to left. Prokopov dies CC13/PB132 (unlisted combination); AMNG III/1, 176; Liampi, Schild M 55; SNG Copenhagen 1314; SNG Ashmolean 3299. Good VF, lightly toned.

Prokopov’s obverse die CC13 was one of the most heavily used. Slight differences noted in various examples suggest that the die apparently had slight re-engravings to counteract deterioration.
