AELIUS. Caesar, 136-138 AD. AR Denarius (18mm, 3.58 g, 6h). Struck 137 AD under Hadrian. L. AELIVS CAESAR, bare head right / TR POT COS II, Felicitas standing facing, head left, holding caduceus and cornucopiae. RIC II 430 (Hadrian); BMCRE 969 (same); RSC 50. Good VF, sharp portrait.

The caduceus on this specimen resembles a flower; only the wings are struck up. Apparently the die filled on the top half where the entwined serpents would be.
