Q. Titius. 90 BC. AR Denarius (18mm, 3.84 gm). Bearded head right, wearing winged diadem / Pegasus springing right from tablet. Crawford 341/1; Sydenham 691; Titia 1. Toned, near VF, porosity.
Ex Lakeview Collection.
The identification of the bearded head as Mutinus Titinus appears to have been a strained attempt to link an obscure local Roman diety, Mutunus Tutunus with the gens Titia. His true identity remains a mystery.
