[AUGUSTUS] Forger's die. After 27 BC. Bronze, diameter of face 23mm, overall diameter 34mm, length of shank 49mm (233.40 gm). Negative impression of the reverse of a denarius of Augustus from uncertain mint: Capricorn right, holding globe and rudder, cornucopiae on its back. For type, cf. RIC I 541. VF, green and brown patina, some minor encrustation. ($3000)
