Sold for $190. This amount does not include the buyer’s fee.

SIKYONIA, Sikyon. Lot of two AR Triobols. Includes the following: Circa 330/20s-280s BC. (15mm, 2.83 g, 5h). Chimaira standing left; [ΣI below] / Dove flying left; pellet above tail feathers. BCD Peloponnesos 292; HGC 5, 213 // Circa 90s-60s BC. (14mm, 1.81 g, 1h). Thrasykles, magistrate. Dove flying left / Large Σ; magistrate’s name around. BCD Peloponnesos 348; HGC 5, 215 corr. (avg. weight). Both coins VF, toned.

From the BCD Collection. Both coins ex Coin Galleries (12 April 1994), lot 422.

The triobols of HGC 215–7 were struck at a reduced standard from the earlier coins of this denomination. The correct average weight for these later pieces seems to be around 2.20 grams.
