Titus. As Caesar, AD 69-79. AV Aureus (19mm, 7.07 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck under Vespasian, AD 76. Laureate head right / Bull standing right. RIC II 857 (Vespasian); Calicó 733. Near VF, a couple of rim bruises.
This reverse type is very similar to an aureus struck for Augustus (cf. Calicó 168), and may signal the Flavians’ continued attempt to foster a nostalgic bridge with the Augustan Age.
