SICILY, Motya(?). Circa 400-397 BC. AR Trias (7mm, 0.26 g, 7h). Head of nymph facing slightly left / Four pellets (mark of value) within wreath. Jenkins,
Punic, –; Campana 25b; HGC 2, –; Manganaro 38 (uncertain Punic mint). Fine, toned, minor porosity, a little off center on reverse. Very rare.
As noted by Campana, the attribution of this piece to Motya is doubtful, and likely based on the tentative attribution of a similar trias to Motya by Jenkins (Jenkins, Punic, p. 74, 7).
