ATTICA, Athens. Circa 454-404 BC. AR Tetradrachm (24mm, 16.87 g, 9h). Possibly a contemporary imitation. Helmeted head of Athena right, with frontal eye / Owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent behind; all within incuse square. Kroll 8; SNG Copenhagen 31. Fine, rough surfaces, scratch on cheek.

The style of the dies, particularly the spiral ornament on the obverse and the wings of the owl and the size of the letters on the reverse, on this piece suggest that it is an imitation rather than an official Athenian issue..
