Bronze ring. Ptolemaic, 3rd-2nd centuries BC. Cast ring fragment with large cameo bust of Ptolemaic queen (Arsinoe II or Berenike II?) facing left, draped and wearing her hair in melon coiffure. Maximum length of face: 22mm. See J. Spier, Getty 88-90 for similar. Roughness. Typical loss of band.


Such rings were probably made for officials of the Ptolemaic territories and have been found in Asia Minor and at a number of Black Sea sites.
