DYNASTS of LYCIA. Kherei. Circa 410-390 BC. AR Stater (18mm, 8.52 g, 7h). Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with palmettes and spiral ornament on the bowl / Forepart of bull right; ẼERẼI (sic, in Lycian) above; all within incuse square. Cf. Mørkholm & Zahle II 33 (1/4 stater); S. Hurter, "A New Lycian Coin Type: Kherêi, Not Kuperlis," INJ 14 (2000-2), pl. 2, 8 (same dies). EF, toned, overstruck on earlier issue with circular incuse revesre. Very rare.
